Legacy waste disposal has become a burning issue in the Pollution ecosystem.
Until 1970s there were few dumpsites in India. Household waste ( mostly food waste ) found its way back to the soil through composting route. Urban discards were collected by farmers. However with the rampant use of single use plastics , the composition of city waste started changing and plastic waste became an integral part of household waste. The plastic portions impeded fertility and the conglomerate mix gradually became unusable for farmers
This resulted in untreated and unused city waste leading to mountains of what became to be known eventually as legacy waste. These heaps of garbage generated banned greenhouse gases like methane , and Governments introduced draconian policies to immediately dispose of legacy waste through bio remediation , Bio mining and other effective technological processes
Swachata Green Solutions has embarked on the crusade to cleanse all cities of legacy waste which is hazardous from all angles and has tied up with leading legacy waste management companies for speedy implementation of disposal
We will soon be documenting on our experiences on this front in the coming months , starting with West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland….and other NE states
